In every person lies a hidden artist.
Who thinks inside the box and who is outside the 90 degree angle.
Emotion is often a catalyst, but sometimes feelings paralyze.
A higher soul connection to our deeper creations make pricing and selling difficult.
Passion can give the power to create, but without control it scatters the energy and diffuses our focus.
For the artist and his art, finding the balance between giving and receiving is immensely important.
Endless learning, persistence and faith are major ingredients to success.
What's do you think?

Love how you have placed emphasis on the balance of receiving and giving in regard to the creation of a piece of art; one gives emotion and passion into their artwork whilst at the same receiving pleasure admiration and/or emotion in return for their own 'sacrifice.'
ReplyDeleteI say 'sacrifice' as art always tends to contain the the artist's pleasures/hates, passions/furies and so on.
Within your own art work i think you ave achieved that balance perfectly. I love your work and look forward to seeing/reading more.
Based on personal experience I have to agree with you - endless learning, persistence and faith !
ReplyDeleteI like how you use the phrase “higher soul connection” in conjunction with pricing and selling…it’s so hard to put a price on something that you design in your mind, I don’t think many people understand the value of an artist work – they only understand the value of their money and while everyone wants to get a good deal we still have to keep in mind all that the artist has went through to reveal the actual artwork from their minds to the physical touching of the hands.
ReplyDeleteNoa...you are an amazing artist and have a god given talent for this type of art. You take everyday curency and transform it into something amazing. I love your passion for your art and I am so proud of you for creating something so beautiful. Keep up the amazing work and let me know whats going on in your life. We miss you in wyoming and would love to see you sometime soon.
ReplyDeleteIndeed we are all artists by nature, nothing is more basic to human culture than to fashion beauty and sustenance from that around us. So we could turn the our habitats into an Eden, with the will of artisans. Time and money may seem to be the possessions of a kleptocratic economy, but they are more importantly an expression of the artist's investment in materials, craft, and heart. I happen to have an old leather bag which is decorated in old coins, and I will give it to you if you want it. The coins appear authentic and some date back hundreds of years. I am not sure it isn't faux. I have had it for years after finding it in a thrift shop, wonder what to do with it. Maybe you could use it.
ReplyDeleteHi Noa, great to hear from you. Yes, dangerous times right now especially where you are. You be extra careful out there!
ReplyDeleteI love what you wrote about being an artist. I agree everyone has a hidden artist in them, and the process you speak to - endless learning (and the exploration that fuels all the learning and growing you do), persistence and faith – absolutely. For myself I’ve seen growth in how you set off different coins using different shapes around them, different combinations of color and form. You seem to challenge yourself to come up with new ways to set off these creative pieces you do – and that is very hard work.
“A higher soul connection to our deeper creations make pricing and selling difficult”, that must always be difficult for someone who cares so much about their art and also cares so much about the people you make it to give meaning and pleasure too. My guess is that you struggle with the giving and receiving, but I’m sure you wrestle with that conflict with great care and integrity.
I showed Bina your “Art for Sale” piece, she agreed with your thoughts and also wanted me to send you her love. You take good care dear heart, you are a special gift to those who know you.
