Most people do not know what their souls really crave. What are the true ingredients of their happiness cake?
Awareness is the baking mold-)
If we don’t know what will make our hearts go out and dance on the dance floor, how can we invite those things into the party of our life?
Faith and passion, in my eyes, are the main ingredients of a happy, full and lush life.
No matter with faith we have in our hearts, as long as it exists, is gives food to our soul and gives our life meaning.
Passion is the spice in the recipe. That is to say, it makes our lives rich and colorful, and bottom line, more tasty.
There are times when we lower the heat and sometimes, without realizing we turn it off completely.
Awareness, desire and perseverance will help to reignite the fire.

Noa, as always beautiful and uplifting...I love the metaphor you've chosen and you view of passion and awareness and the incredible importance that they play.
ReplyDeleteI also appreciate your view of the told of faith in an individual's life as being something important, and equally legitimate no matter what our beliefs.
Faith is a funny one for me though, as I do not subscribe to one per se. My favorite to turn to when I feel confused or upset is Taoism- but I would not say I am Taoist. Perhaps my faith is in love- as it seems that no matter the hard trials that I face I never doubt the love of the world.
What do you think of someone who has no faith or belief in a god, and feel no emptiness or need for one?

I totally believe the things u wrote. I believe the problem nowadays with people is we are just getting too much into regular pattern of the society on regular basis. We born, go school, trying to get some degrees, then find work. work work work. marry have children. But during this period, we never look for what we really need. Maybe pressure from society or family prevents us to achieve this. Mostly we are stacked into a small way, do not even try to get out. Since we spend so much energy on what we did before, we don't have the courage to leave all behind, so we continue. So many things becomes monotone that lacks passion and energy. You wrote to know what you want is 75% of getting it. What percentage of people do you think what they want?
ReplyDeleteNoa, l do believe there is a recipe for life, and the two elements of faith and passion are the key ingredients! Faith gives the reason and motivation while passion gives the energy and desire. People tendnto be passive, therefore nothing changes. People of passion take the risks and make life a joy rather than wallow in sorrow. Passion needs to be balanced with wisdom, and that, my friend, is a lifelong course. :)

ReplyDeleteNoa, I love the way you have written this in terms of a Happiness Cake! All is right. We definitely need awareness to know what we want and that is the baking mould as it hold the opportunity for things to rise. We are blessed if we don't know what we want and it is revealed to us yet if we really know that is the best.
ReplyDeleteFaith and passion are the great supporters - faith in our ability to create and to know we are loved and supported in the process and passion brings the drive. And passion, absolutely - I think that passion is tied in with awareness - it is the what makes the cake rise really well and taste delicious; it definitely brings spice and flavour and our unique spice and flavour.
If we were to create a cake using these three ingredients, in terms of creating something to be shared, bought or experienced, then I think that all three are needed. Diligence and perseverance are also important to make our creations come alive, yet I think if we have awareness, passion and faith, that fuels the former.
